Sakira Vel is a British actress of South Asian heritage, born and raised in East London. She is fluent in Tamil and English, with conversational Korean and Japanese. Trained as an emergency medical doctor, she spent over a decade working in the NHS and in Australia before transitioning to acting. Her performance training includes improv at The Free Association, the Actors Studio at Pinewood, and work with coaches Ivana Chubbuck and Claire Davidson. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
